Anchor Ring
2025 — Interdisciplinary Design

We often believe that love exists in people, but when someone leaves whether through distance, time, or loss it begins to exist in objects. A letter, a photograph, a piece of clothing, or a piece of jewelry suddenly becomes more than a possession it becomes a vessel for memory. Through my research, I found that people often attach deep emotional value to jewelry gifted by loved ones. The object itself may be small, but it carries stories, moments, and feelings that cannot be replaced. Many participants described their jewelry as a reminder of a person, a relationship, or a specific moment in their lives. In response, I created a ring engraved with the phrase "I will always be your anchor in rough waters." The ring symbolizes the presence of someone who continues to provide comfort even in their absence. Just as an anchor prevents a ship from drifting away, memories and sentimental objects keep us connected to the people we love.
